It started with a broken espresso machine and a stubborn idea.

In 2019 we found a leaky corner unit down by the old port, talked the landlord into a lease, and spent a summer learning to pull a decent shot. We got it wrong a lot. Then we got it right — and the neighbours started showing up.

Weird Harbour was never meant to be precious about coffee. We take the beans seriously and ourselves a lot less. No secret menu, no attitude, no judgement if you order it iced in January. Just carefully sourced coffee, pastries pulled warm from the oven, and a room where you're welcome to stay a while.

Today we're two little harbours across the city, run by a crew that genuinely likes each other — and, we hope, likes you too.

What we stand for

Three things we refuse to cut corners on.

Sourced with care

We buy from roasters and farms we know by name, and pay what good coffee is worth. Traceable, seasonal, and always freshly roasted.

Everyone's welcome

Freelancers, first dates, toddlers, night-shift nurses, the slightly odd. Pull up a chair — the long table was built for strangers.

Kind to the coast

Compostable everything, spent grounds to local gardeners, and a discount when you bring your own cup. Small harbour, smaller footprint.
